BluRay offers high definition playback of your favorite movie titles. Look for the BD label when purchasing movies from your local or online retailer. BluRay discs will not play in a standard DVD player. A BluRay player will be needed to view BD movies.

One of the most popular BluRay players on the market is found within the Sony Playstation 3 game console. Every PS3 ships with a built-in BluRay player. Most people who are in the market for a BluRay player are also in the market for a game console, so for many, the PS3 is the logical choice.

The other two main contenders in the game console market, the Microsoft XBox 360 and the Nintendo Wii, do not come with a BluRay player.
